National University of Kaohsiung was founded in 2000 under government auspices to achieve a balanced development of higher education between southern and northern Taiwan, and to help the technology industry in southern Taiwan. In view of the shortage of qualified personnel in IT industry, the university established the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. Through school colleagues’ great effort and support from Ministry of Education, the university founded the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering,which started recruit undergraduate students in August 2004. The department started to recruit graduate students in August 2007. |

Over the years, the department currently has 85 graduated students, more than 200 school students and 11academic staff; including 5 professors,2 associate professors and 4 assistant professors. In addition, the department collaborates with the Department of Electrical Engineering to jointly. |
